Duties:

Meet with NHSC employees to determine their computing and information management needs. (15%) Determine the hardware essential to support NHSC’s software and computing functions. (15%) Install, configure, and test operating systems, application software and system management tools. (20%) Create control features to ensure systems effectively meet NHSC quality standards. (5%) Engage in quality control procedures to ensure that systems are efficient and operational. (10%) Develop a cost-efficient system for projects by performing a costbenefit analysis. (10%) Design functional applications, databases, and networks to fulfill NHSC needs. (20%) Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with the NHSC team to implement those fixes. (5%)

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field plus 1 year of experience in Information Technology or related occupation.
Requires 1 year of experience in the following:
• Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting in Windows, iOS and Linux-based operating system environments.
• SQL Server as database management tool.
• Experience with at least one network monitoring including Paessler PRTG, Wireshark, or SolarWinds.
• IT infrastructure service including Active Directory, Group Policy, SMTP, and DNS.
• Virtualization and containerization application including VMware or Virtual Box.
• Programming language including SQL, C++, C#, or Visual Basic.
• Cybersecurity including Kali Linux, Tenable Nessus, Metasploit, OpenVAS, Nmap or WatchGuard.
This position requires a CompTIA A+ certification.
