Equine Studies
Associate of Science Degree Program
Associate of Science Degree Program
The mission of NHSC’s Equine Studies Program is to provide students with a realistic venue for pursuing their passion for horses. The program is designed to increase knowledge of the science, behavior, care and management of horses, to expand awareness of the equine industry well above that of the average horse person and to understand the importance of horses in Native culture. NHSC’s experiential approach and broad-based curriculum allows graduates to pursue a wide range of equine related professions.
Students in the Equine Studies Program have optional electives that emphasize equine-assisted learning or natural horsemanship. If you are interested in earning a bachelor’s degree in equine science from another university, you are encouraged to take electives while earning an associate’s degree.
